Ethical Therapy Rates for Shared Community in Racine, WI

Our Anti-Opressive Rate Structure

At Rooted Counseling & Wellness, we believe that access to therapy should be guided by care, dignity, and sustainability. We recognize that financial capacity is shaped by many factors, including systemic barriers, access to education and healthcare, caregiving responsibilities, and present-day resources.

Our therapy rates are structured using a tiered, values-informed model rather than a traditional sliding scale. Reduced-rate options are limited and are offered intentionally to support individuals who may otherwise be unable to access care.

To help determine the most appropriate rate, clients are asked to complete a brief financial reflection form. This form is not a test or a scoring system; it serves as a tool to support an accurate understanding of current access, financial stability, and available resources. Final rate placement is determined collaboratively, with the clinician holding responsibility for ethical allocation and long-term sustainability of care.

Rates are reviewed every 90 days to account for changes in financial circumstances and to ensure that reduced-rate spaces remain available to those who need them most. If a client’s financial capacity shifts over time, rates may be adjusted accordingly.

This approach allows Rooted Counseling & Wellness to remain grounded, sustainable, and responsive—while continuing to offer accessible care within a shared community framework.

No matter your rate tier, you will be met with the same level of care, respect, and clinical support.

Reduced-Rate Availability

Reduced-rate placements are limited and may not have immediate availability. Openings are offered as capacity allows within each tier.

Clients requesting a sliding fee or pro bono placement are required to complete the Rate Reflection Questionnaire to support an accurate assessment of financial capacity.

Still reflecting on what kind of support you need?

If you’re not quite ready to begin therapy, but you’re noticing a pattern of overreacting, overfunctioning, or shutting down in relationships, I created a short somatic guide that may help bring clarity.

The Reactivity Cycle offers an attachment-informed lens for understanding the protective patterns your nervous system may have learned around connection.

It can be a helpful place to begin if you’re still deciding what level of support feels right.
