Brainspotting Intensives for Women Ready to Feel Different

For women who feel stuck in familiar patterns, overwhelmed by trauma, or exhausted from trying to feel better. Serving Racine, Kenosha & Oak Creek. Virtually Across Wisconsin.

You have done the talking. You have named the patterns. You may even understand where they began.

You've read the self-help books. Listened to the podcasts. You could practically recite Brené Brown's work by heart.

You understand boundaries, attachment styles, and the importance of self-compassion. You can recognize your patterns, name your triggers, and explain why you respond the way you do.

You've done the work to understand yourself. Maybe you've even spent years in therapy.

So why does it still feel so hard to actually feel different?

You might be the woman who holds everything together on the outside, even when it feels like everything is unraveling inside.

You're dependable. Thoughtful. The person everyone turns to. But underneath it all, you're exhausted from constantly managing your emotions, anticipating everyone else's needs, and trying to keep things from falling apart.

Maybe you recognize yourself in some of these moments:

  • Someone's tone changes, and you immediately wonder what you did wrong. Your stomach tightens before you've even had time to think.

  • You know you need to set a boundary, but the guilt that follows makes you question whether you were asking for too much.

  • A disagreement leaves you activated for hours. You replay the conversation, searching for what you could have said differently.

  • You push yourself to do everything right, yet the feeling that you're somehow falling short never quite goes away.

  • You find yourself shutting down, disconnecting, or going numb when emotions become too much.

  • You finally have a quiet moment, but your body doesn't seem to know how to relax. Even rest can feel uncomfortable.

Or perhaps your experience looks different.

You're carrying the effects of something painful that happened to you. Memories, emotions, or physical responses can surface unexpectedly. Your body reacts before you've had time to make sense of what's happening, and you're tired of feeling as though you're always bracing for something.

You want to feel more at ease in your own body and more present in your own life.

You want to move through a difficult conversation without losing yourself. Make decisions without second-guessing everything. Rest without feeling guilty. Experience your relationships without constantly anticipating what might go wrong.

More than anything, you want some relief from the amount of energy it takes just to get through the day.

Experience the depth of months of therapy - in just one powerful session.

The Thought of Starting Therapy All Over Again Feels Exhausting

The thought of finding another therapist, retelling your story, and spending months getting someone up to speed feels exhausting. You've already put so much energy into understanding yourself. You just want to feel better.

And between your career, family, and everything else demanding your attention, finding time for another weekly commitment isn't always realistic.

Even when you do make the time, it can feel like you're just getting somewhere when the session ends. You finally begin connecting with something meaningful, only to have to wrap things up and return to your day.

What if therapy could look different?

Instead of starting over or committing to months of weekly appointments, imagine having dedicated time to focus on what's keeping you stuck—without rushing the process or putting your life on hold.

When a Brainspotting Intensive May Be a Better Fit

A Brainspotting Intensive gives you dedicated time to work through the emotional and physical responses that continue affecting your life, even when you understand where they come from.

Rather than relying on talking alone, we'll bring together three therapeutic approaches that help you explore your experiences in different ways.

Brainspotting: Processing What Words Can't Always Reach

Have you ever noticed that your body reacts to something before you've even had time to think?

Trauma can affect the brain and nervous system in ways that aren't always accessible through conscious thought or conversation alone. Brainspotting uses specific eye positions, focused attention, and awareness of your body's responses to help process difficult experiences and the emotional reactions connected to them.

You don't have to find the perfect words, analyze every emotion, or retell every painful detail for meaningful work to happen.

Somatic Therapy: Helping Your Body Feel More at Ease

Trauma can affect how your nervous system responds to everyday situations, leaving you feeling tense, overwhelmed, disconnected, or constantly on alert.

Somatic therapy helps you recognize these responses and develop ways to work with them. Through body awareness, grounding, and gentle movement, we'll explore how to support greater regulation rather than simply pushing through uncomfortable feelings.

Parts Work: Understanding the Different Sides of Yourself

There's the part of you that wants to set boundaries and the part that feels guilty afterward. The part that knows you're safe and the part that still expects something to go wrong.

Parts work helps you understand these sometimes-conflicting responses, especially the ones that developed to protect you. Instead of criticizing yourself or trying to force them away, we'll approach them with curiosity and compassion.

What Could Feel Different?

Through this focused work, you may begin to experience:

  • Greater emotional steadiness: Feeling less overwhelmed by conflict or familiar triggers.

  • More calm in your body: Finding it easier to settle after stress and recognize when your body needs support.

  • Stronger boundaries and self-trust: Feeling more confident honoring your needs without becoming consumed by guilt.

  • Less self-criticism: Understanding your protective responses rather than constantly fighting against yourself.

  • More connection to everyday life: Feeling more present in your relationships and less preoccupied with anticipating what might go wrong.

You don't necessarily need months of weekly appointments to begin noticing meaningful shifts.

Your Brainspotting Intensive provides focused time for deeper processing, with preparation and integration built into the experience so you have opportunities to carry that work into everyday life.

Meet Jennifer Rossmann, Certified Brainspotting Therapist

Hi, I'm Jennifer! I'm the founder of Rooted Counseling & Wellness and a Certified Brainspotting Therapist specializing in trauma and somatic therapy.

One of my favorite parts of being a therapist is witnessing those moments when something finally shifts for a client. Sometimes it's a big emotional release. Other times, it's a quiet realization, a deep breath, or noticing that something that once felt overwhelming doesn't carry quite the same weight.

That's what I love about intensive work. We have the freedom to slow down, get curious, and stay with whatever emerges without feeling rushed. It's the kind of work I find most meaningful, and why I've intentionally shaped my practice around offering deeper, more focused therapeutic experiences.

What's It Like to Work With Me?

I'm the kind of therapist who will notice when you laugh while talking about something painful, or when you say you're fine but your shoulders have crept up toward your ears. I might gently point it out and invite us to get curious about what's happening.

I ask questions, challenge old stories you've come to believe about yourself, and sometimes bring a little humor into the room. I won't pretend to have all the answers, and I'm not interested in telling you how you should feel.

I also know that healing can be messy. There might be tears, laughter, frustration, or moments when neither of us knows quite where the work is going. That's okay. We don't have to force it.

And if you're someone who's spent years making sure everyone else is comfortable, I want this to be a space where you don't have to take care of anyone but yourself.

You deserve more than getting through each day. Give yourself the space to process what you've experienced and begin reconnecting with the life you want to live.

Session 1: Preparation & Introduction to Brainspotting

90 Minutes | Getting to Know You

Before we begin deeper processing, I want to understand you—not just your history, but how you experience emotions, what helps you feel grounded, and what you're hoping will feel different.

Together, we'll identify a central focus for your intensive, explore protective parts and nervous system patterns, and begin building resources to support you.

You'll also experience a gentle introduction to Brainspotting. This helps you become familiar with the process and gives me an opportunity to understand how you respond so I can individualize our work on Intensive Day.

Session 2: Your Brainspotting Intensive Day

3 Hours | Focused Trauma Processing

This is our dedicated time to go deeper, without the usual pressure of a shorter therapy appointment.

We'll begin with the intention we've established together and allow the Brainspotting process to unfold naturally. Somatic therapy, parts work, grounding, and gentle movement may be incorporated throughout, depending on what you need.

There is no set agenda to follow, no expectation to revisit every painful memory, and certainly no pressure to have a breakthrough.

We'll make room for breaks, emotional processing, and time to settle before you leave.

Session 3: Integration & Moving Forward

90 Minutes | Reflection & Continued Healing

After your Intensive Day, you'll have time to notice what feels different and what may still be unfolding.

When we meet again, we'll explore what you've experienced since our last appointment and what you need next.

That might involve additional Brainspotting, working with protective parts, or exploring how you want to move forward through expansion-focused Brainspotting.

We'll also talk about how you can continue supporting yourself after our time together, so you leave with a clearer sense of what comes next.

Six hours of personalized therapeutic care, intentionally spread across several weeks to allow space for deeper work and integration.

Personalized Support Throughout Your Brainspotting Intensive

I believe the little things matter, especially when you're making the decision to invest in yourself and do deeper therapeutic work.

I've put a lot of thought into creating an experience where you feel cared for, comfortable, and supported—not just during our appointments, but in the time between them and after our work together.

Your Personal Workbook & Healing Journal

Before our first appointment, you'll receive a thoughtfully designed workbook to help you begin exploring your patterns, protective parts, and the intentions you're bringing into your intensive. Throughout our work together, you'll also have guided reflections, somatic exercises, and journaling prompts to help you notice changes and integrate what you're processing. And when our appointments are complete, it's yours to keep—a resource you can continue returning to as your healing unfolds.

A Care Package Created Just for You

This is one of my favorite parts of preparing for your Intensive Day!

Before we meet, I'll send you a short questionnaire asking about the little things that help you feel comfortable and grounded. Your favorite snacks, scents you enjoy, and other personal comforts. I'll use your answers to create a personalized care package filled with thoughtful touches you can enjoy during our time together and take home afterward.

And yes, there will be a plant. If you know me, you know how much I love plants, and sharing a little greenery is one of the ways I bring something personally meaningful into this experience. It's a small gesture, but one that reflects something important to me: I want you to feel genuinely cared for while you're doing work that isn't always easy.

Optional Reiki & Energy Release Session

Enhance your Brainspotting Intensive with an optional 60-minute Reiki session designed to offer a restorative space for relaxation, reflection, and intentional release.

This experience may include Reiki energy healing, grounding meditation, cord-cutting visualization, sound-supported relaxation, and a symbolic release ritual. It's an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore releasing emotional heaviness and patterns that no longer serve you.

Sessions are offered by a collaborating practitioner and can be scheduled after your Intensive Day or on a separate day for an additional fee.
